Frequently Asked Questions and Other Helpful Information

In your first session, the focus is on getting to know you and what brings you to therapy. This looks like talking about your goals, any challenges you're currently facing, and what you'd like to get out of the therapeutic process. You can also expect me to ask some background questions to help me better understand your experiences and needs.
This session is a chance for you to ask questions, get a feel for how I work, and decide if it feels like a good fit. There's no pressure to share everything right away — we’ll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.Description text goes here

If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, I kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice. This allows me to offer the time to someone else who may be waiting. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to the full session fee. I understand that life happens, so if something unexpected comes up, please reach out — we’ll do our best to work through it together.

While I accept insurance for individual therapy, I do not for couples therapy. This is because insurance requires a mental health diagnosis for one person and documentation that focuses on their individual treatment. Couples therapy, however, focuses on the relationship—not one person’s diagnosis—which doesn’t align with insurance requirements.
Because insurance doesn't support the nature of relational work, couples therapy is provided as private pay to preserve the integrity of the process.
